EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps people process and recover from distressing or traumatic experiences. Sometimes, difficult memories can become "stuck" and continue to affect how we think, feel, and respond long after the event has passed. EMDR helps the brain reprocess these memories so they become less distressing and have less impact on everyday life. It can be effective for trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, phobias, grief, and other emotional difficulties.
TRAUMA-INFORMED APPROACH
Trauma-Informed Approach is a way of providing care that recognises the widespread impact of trauma and prioritises safety, trust, and collaboration throughout the therapeutic process. It assists clients in understanding how past experiences may affect everyday functioning and wellbeing. Therapy is tailored to each person's needs, with an emphasis on creating a respectful, supportive environment where clients feel empowered, understood, and in control of their healing journey.
MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING
Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative, client-centred approach that helps people explore and strengthen their motivation for change. Rather than telling clients what to do, it supports them to identify their own goals, resolve uncertainty, and build confidence in making positive changes. Motivational Interviewing can be particularly helpful for developing healthier habits, managing life transitions, and making meaningful, lasting changes that align with a person's values.
Therapeutic Interventions and Approaches
CBT
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based therapy that helps people understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. By identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and developing more balanced ways of responding, CBT can help reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and other emotional difficulties. It is a practical, collaborative approach that equips clients with effective strategies to manage challenges, build resilience, and create lasting positive change.
MINDFULNESS-BASED APPROACHES
Mindfulness-based approaches help people develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without judgement. By learning to stay present in the moment, clients can reduce stress, manage difficult emotions more effectively, and respond to challenges with greater calm and clarity. Mindfulness-based approaches can be beneficial for anxiety, depression, stress, and improving overall emotional wellbeing.
